Jane Kim, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Supervisor

Jane Kim, LCSW (she/her) is a Clinical Supervisor at Garden Health Group, where she provides guidance and support to provisionally licensed social workers (LSWs) and professional counselors (LPCs). As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jane is dedicated to helping emerging clinicians develop their therapeutic skills while fostering a deep understanding of the complex dynamics involved in working with clients from diverse backgrounds.

A second-generation Korean-American and the daughter of working-class immigrants from South Korea, Jane’s personal journey informs her clinical work and supervision approach. Having navigated the challenges of reconciling cultural identities and the pressures of societal and familial expectations, she brings a unique perspective to her supervisory role. Jane’s background allows her to help clinicians understand the intersectionality of identity, social issues, and healing, especially in the context of diverse client populations.

In supervision, Jane emphasizes both clinical growth and self-awareness, encouraging supervisees to integrate theoretical knowledge with an understanding of their own lived experiences to help inform their own work with clients. She combines a macro-level understanding of systemic inequalities with a compassionate, individualized approach to healing. Jane incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) to guide her supervisees in developing a diverse therapeutic toolkit.

Her style is warm, straightforward, and conversational. Jane tries to foster a safe and supportive environment where provisionally licensed therapists can explore their clinical challenges, reflect on their professional growth, and build confidence in their work. Her goal is to help clinicians not only become effective therapists but also develop the self-awareness and cultural competence necessary to provide compassionate care to all clients.
